The Clarkston Independence District Library is a part of The Library Network and participates in the MILibraryCard and MeL programs

The Library Network (TLN) is a Public Library cooperative serving 65 libraries in southeast Michigan. Most Libraries in this network allow reciprical borrowing for patrons of other TLN libraries. This means that if you take your Independence Library Card along with a valid driver's license to these libraries, you will be allowed to check out their materials. This means that here at Independence Township Library we do the same for patrons of other member libraries.

The MILibraryCard program is a program that includes many public and academic libraries. Residents can get a MILibraryCardsticker placed on their library card at their home library. They are then able to visit other MILibraryCard libraries statewide to check out print materials. MILibraryCardholders can check out 5 print items at the Clarkston Independence District Library. Our residents can get a MILibraryCardsticker by asking at the Circulation Desk.
