It's that time again!  Time for the 2nd Annual Clarkston Independence District Library/Sashabaw Middle School Battle of the Books!  The books are chosen, copies are available on Overdrive and on our CIDL lending Kindles, as well as on our shelves (we will be getting more copies soon!) and at the Middle School Library.  Here are the titles:

Courage for Beginners by Karen Harrington

Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson

Chasing Lincoln's Killer by James Swanson

Navigating Early by Clare Vanderpoole

The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

The Book of Three by Lloyd Alexander

The Book Scavenger by Jennifer Chambliss Bertram

The Battle will be on March 18th at the Middle School.  Below you can find a link to a pdf copy of the registration form.  Please print one off and turn it in to Mrs. Locke at the Middle School if you would like to participate.  The deadline for forming a team is December 4th.

CIDL will have lots of events planned around the battle, including the poster making session, and several of the titles will be the Parent Tween Book Club selections for October, December, January, February and March!

Keep an eye out here and at the Middle School Library for more information!

Every month we update our Reader's blog with new material and with lists that you might find interesting and relevant for the month!  Check it out!

Reader's Blog

Here, not only will you find booklists for several different age groups but we want you to participate too!  Click on the blog tab at the top of the page and share some of your own suggestions for good reading!  We'd love to read some reviews of good books from our older Clarkston Kids, and maybe even see some art from our younger readers in the area!
